Wiltshire Moonrakers

Our name reflects the historical tradition from nearby Devizes in Wiltshire of The Moonrakers. A group of locals were engaged in a bit of smuggling and were retrieving some barrels of illicit brandy from the Crammer (a very large pond on the edge of town) in the middle of the night when they were surprised by the revenue men. Being quick thinking yokels, when asked what they were up to, they explained in broad dialect that they were trying to rake up the big cheese they could see in the pond. The smart revenue men could only see the reflection of the moon and left the daft locals to it. The full story is here.
